Written for Few Miles Haiku Challenge 2012 for the month of February: Day 26- Paint the Image - Thanks for the comments and visits ~
The last line of "broken furniture" is powerful - suggesting that all the usual elements of living are broken in these little ones' lives!
ReplyDeleteThis is a harsh but unfortunately true one.
ReplyDeleteYou captured the harshness of the photo so well...the first one really struck me with its stark portrayal of the reality in the photo
ReplyDeletePowerful Haiku. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteRealities can be quite hard to bear. But things may just work out though!Powerful voice here!

I like the suggestion that the 'dirty brown cardboard' acts as the table, bed, and chair for these unfortunate boys. Good description.
ReplyDeleteVery disturbing, even more so that it's true, when it shouldn't have to be.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! This haiku is so powerful and also true. Loved reading it.
ReplyDeletea painful truth of reality..I have seen it here in our country Ms.Grace and I can relate to your Haiku..nicely penned..passing by ;)
ReplyDeletethis is def evocative for me...i have made it a point to spend time with the homeless for years now...just to be among them and hear their stories and lend a meal or an ear.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely crafted.
ReplyDeleteSo sad...The furniture is broken!
ReplyDeletePowerfully written for a heart-wrenching image ... I just didn't have the "heart" to follow the realistic path of either image today (as you already know). Thank you for sharing your superb perception! Have a blessed day!

ReplyDeleteYou showed it all.. well expressed..
ReplyDeleteAgitating, and beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteMany broken things--and people--in this world. Where are the fixers?
