emptiness stretched far
shorelines deserted of birds,
bread crumbs turned to dust
~0~0
palm trees drooping low,
listening to footsteps, but
nothing whispered back

ReplyDeletethe second part is very very good and 'insightful' shall i say..
nice haiku..
Enjoyed these haiku very much. A favorite line is "nothing whispered back"
ReplyDeleteI have been on deserted shore lines too and your lines bring back some memories.
Descriptive haiku! The last lines in both haiku resonate with a powerful, intimate twist! Delightful!
ReplyDeleteSolitude can be grand sometimes, although a whisper back would occasionally be nice.

ReplyDeleteQuiet and stillness lend for the moment when one can hear the whispers.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I hear whispers in my stillness, eyelids closed but can see the Universe. 8-)
What I'd really like to see is dust turning back into bread crumbs! :)
