cobble me a fig leaf,
scatterings of white blooms
upon fresh scent of summer rain
i'll find a song
stuck in my head, running
loose, a kite bowling over grey clouds
while whipping up
dessert of fruits and ice-cream
nothing is spoiling my day!

Mmmmm! This is somehow both delicious, and wonderfully laced with nature. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have some rain... it's been a month since last time... we need the rain (and I would love to have it with ice cream)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love days when you have the spring inside you, and the outside doesn't matter too much. A lovely sprinkling of imagery.
ReplyDeleteYour quadrille is wonderfully perfumed, Grace, and I love the line:
ReplyDelete'...running
loose, a kite bowling over grey clouds',
it's so joyful!
I love the joyful, bouncy tone of your piece!
ReplyDeleteRain need not spoil a day. I like the "fresh scent of summer rain".
ReplyDeleteSometimes we just have to decide it and let nothing spoil it.
ReplyDeleteI like your dance of spring imagery.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a party invitation to rain!
ReplyDeleteThis feels so wonderfully almost-summery! Summer rain always smells so good..
ReplyDeleteAtta girl! I feel your freedom!
ReplyDeleteThis brought a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteGrace, I do believe you could find a song in the most unusual places. I hope you are having better days.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful!💖 Love "running loose, a kite bowling over grey clouds."
ReplyDeleteNice Grace! Sounds like a Zippa-de-do-da-Day!

What a wonderful and refreshing day that would be! We did have rain last night, and earlier we saw 2 kites flying nearby. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the attitude - the pluck - of this!
ReplyDeleteLove the enthusiasm here!
ReplyDeleteNothing can ruin your day if you have desserts and ice cream. I mean... :)
ReplyDeleteI've missed visiting your page. Sorry got so busy.
Smiling! I love, 'a kite bowling over grey clouds.'
ReplyDeleteIt happens, when a song is running in your head.
ReplyDeleteRun run dance ice cream! This is perfect summer day
ReplyDeleteIt’s interesting, reading it seemed like something rhymed with “stuck in my head “ and I couldn’t find it, then oh! Duh! The title! And then wow, that changes the whole poem, get life in fast before rains, title added the bit of tension that heightened the joy in the stanzas. Masterful.
ReplyDeleteThHe images are as delectable as fruit and ice cream. :-)
