tell me
you're pining for midnight kiss,
on starless night
your hair brushed by wings of
fireflies
i'll smile (with emojis)
& listen to musings
& delusions
(uncensored)
don't blame me though
for your life's choices
i'm just a girl
with
(your)
confession account

Oh.. love it... those delusions are so often found on twitter but I think they have moved to Tiktok by now...
ReplyDeleteSUCH a clever title-to-first line transition here, Grace. Love this, and all the language within.
ReplyDelete(This is de. Sigh. Login issues, as always.)
ReplyDeleteterrific twittered poem Grace - ingenious and fun to read
ReplyDeleteSo very clever and well-written, Grace. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever, I love your style! Really something else. A great take on the prompt!
ReplyDeleteNice one. Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteMuch 💖love
I think this would pass over the heads of many twitter users. Far too clever.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant form for a Twitter poem
ReplyDeleteNice work indeed, G. Thanks
ReplyDeleteVery well done. We live in an uncensored world with social media and a censored one in the public and political rhelm.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Grace!
ReplyDeleteI do like “your hair brushed by wings of
ReplyDeletefireflies”
I don’t think people will have to worry about their confessions on Twitter (x) much longer now that Elon Musk took over and ruined their brand.🤭
Oops. ^That was me, Melissa.❤️
ReplyDeleteNicely done poem, Grace.
ReplyDeletei'll smile (with emojis)
ReplyDelete& listen to musings

Oh that stings. Nicely done, Grace.
Love the voice in this... the hint of sarcasm, so clever and truthful.
ReplyDelete"your hair brushed by wings of fireflies" is the most amazing image.
Fabulous use of space and parenthesis to tell a modern tale.
ReplyDeleteI love your anonymous (twitter) confessions, Grace! I love the romance of a midnight kiss and ‘hair brushed by wings of fireflies’ while at the same time commenting on modern social media in ‘i'll smile (with emojis)’. The last lines reminded me of The Girl from Plainville, which I’ve binge-watched with interest.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, I like very much!
ReplyDeleteA perfect poem for the 21st century, Grace... I love the "smile (with emojis)" line!
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
David

I like the narrator voice here
ReplyDeleteThis made my stomach twist. It's a tragic way to interact.
ReplyDeleteWell! You have outclassed the Twitter / X universe beautifully! Brava.
