Starry night

star-lit sky,
guitar serenade,
shy rose blooms

falling star
on coconut palms,
spell-bound song

bowl of fruits -
star apples, mangoes -
welcome leis

demure maid
with lavender rose,
a starburst

~0~0~

countless stars
can't match your brown eyes,
 shining yes!

Note:  The old tradition of Philippine courtship is called harana.  It involves singing to woo the woman at night, and if she likes you, she opens her window and invites you inside her home.

  2. Let's hope he can sing or some thrown it could bring, but I'm sure if he's anything like you, captured her and more he was surely able to do

  20. Grace, sorry I didn't make it over until now, and thx for visiting my blog.

This marriage of van Gogh's "Starry Night," a hint of Don McLean as well... and finally, the Filipino tradition, gorgeous. Not only does the image convey that love, the haibun (is that right?) were so evocative, filled with beauty.

A very pleasing write, especially when read aloud. Peace, Amy
