under the wave of writing
fog, i set an alarm: to persuade
believers,
invisible enemies in
Stalin's Court of Red Tsar,
the spies in Hitler's inner circle
seeking Allah,
finding Jesus
what are 7 secrets of persuasion?
I turn to the African Samurai
for answers
he, black warrior
is silent
truth is best served, with starving mouth

Oh I do love those spies in Hitler's inner circle.. how creative of you to fill in them to create such consistent poetry,
ReplyDeleteyou melded these together so well Grace - that last line is sheer brilliance
ReplyDeleteI was intrigued by the title, Grace, and then by the ‘invisible enemies in / Stalin's Court of Red Tsar’ and the ‘spies in Hitler's inner circle’. And ‘what are 7 secrets of persuasion?’ I need to know!
ReplyDeleteNice last line with serving the truth with the starving mouth.
ReplyDeleteLooks like your hub reads deep! I like the way your created a political intrigue with the titles.
ReplyDeleteYou serve up (curbside) a cautionary poetic tale, delivered artfully from those titles. But can we handle the truth?
ReplyDeleteIt flows effortlessly, Grace, beautifully blended politics with other more innocence matters
ReplyDeleteHank
- innocence of matters -
ReplyDeleteGood question. (K)
ReplyDeletewooooah!!!! what a journey! and that last line is so powerful, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful piece of thinking behind the writing Grace!
ReplyDeleteAlthough at times it is the starving mouth that cripples a resist and fight back approach,
I do hope that you and your family are well and doing well!
You blend the titles and your own words very skilfully here. Love that ending.
ReplyDeleteLinking the African Samurai (I'd have to look him up myself) to the truth of the starving mouth - food aid in this time (we're still in lockdown in South Africa) is a huge, huge problem. You excelled in this prompt.
ReplyDeleteWell done. I especially like the title and the last line.
ReplyDeleteThat came out great!!
ReplyDeleteWow! You served this up so well!
ReplyDeleteLove your creation!
ReplyDelete"Under the wave of writing fog", that describes me now. I like your list and all these books!!
ReplyDeleteMost interesting titles woven so well and I love how you incorporated the question.
ReplyDeleteWell done Grace! I like your combinations and embellishments that make they flow!
