Chasing a song while walking the trails

Hamilton, Canada

Let's chase the sun
Across the valleys and plains
Out to where the sky is so blue

Take leave of your stuff
We'll travel light as birds
Marveling each new season
With a lilt and swooping wings

Let's chase the sun
Across the rivers and caves
Out to where sands are so pink

See the clouds whirling fast
Over apples trees and wheat fields
Chasing dragonflies, we put
colorful marks along the way

Let's chase the sun
Across the valleys and plains
Out to where the sky is so blue

Only when you see
the school of fish, tarry
the murder of crows, pause
a siege of herons, stop

Otherwise, let's chase the sun
Across the valleys and plains
Out to where the sky is so blue

  1. Oh I do love this... what a wonderful song... I can hear it being played by a singer-songwriter with just a guitar...

  2. Definitely just a guitar - that's all the accompaniment this needs!

  4. I like the idea of chasing the sun. It makes for an interesting refrain. A very pretty song this could be and I agree...just the soft strum of a guitar.

  7. I hear Joni Mitchell singing it, but the instrument is her piano. Nice song/poetic; more joyful than mine; smile.

  8. Rather this than chasing the clouds away. The sun is a better way. A lovely romp here, Grace.

  9. I enjoyed the refrain, this would work well accompanied by an acoustic guitar.

  14. To be the breeze carrying itself sight to sight through sound and space--this would not be a bad condition to live within.
