Gem

the yellow shell move
snail's pace towards the jewel
shining on the edge

meadow plain and bare,
reward of a long journey
a gem in his eyes

spirals of the sun,
quenching his wandering soul
thirsty for the sky

  5. I read it all as one piece. It's cohesive to me: A snail's pace rewarded quenching his wandering soul. Nice writing!

  6. oh, lovely lovely lovely! I loved how you used your words, tie them together. i loved how you managed to include nature in your haiku, which i always tried my best to include in mine too, but sometimes i just couldn't. lastly, that image you got there. it fits so perfectly with your haiku pieces. well done.

  8. These fit together nicely, Grace.
My fave, spirals of the sun, quenching his wandering soul,
leads me to wonder if he might get a sunburn as he sees the light.
I jest about the sunburn but the thought did occur.
