splash of spring

snow is
             melting
                          butter
on feet
of willow and pine trees

while sun is sprinkling
fuzzy bubbles of warm soap
in sky

gather me in your safe
harbor
smell of sagebrush & cool
peppermint

melding with the sugarcane air
of spring
              splashing
                             my
                                     face

  9. Another view of spring. It's interesting and surprising the different imagery used to describe spring—your peppermint and sugar cane for example would never have occurred to me!

  12. Ah, the smell of sagebrush and peppermint! Always loving the smell of peppermint, I planted a spring by the front door of my last home, not knowing it's a wildly prolific plant. It quickly took over my flower bed, it's roots journeying all over the place! I certainly smelled mint when I opened my front door!
