Winter

cold blistering wind
blowing snowflakes and white dust
welcome winter land

trees wrapped like cocoon
animals hibernating
until frost, ice melts

Street sounds

fire engine blaring
along crowded narrow street
alas, false alarm

~0~0~

clock chimes
tall buildings in a row sighed
as feet rushed outside

~0~0~

national game day
horns and whistles blowing loud
street full of colours

Waves

water crashing shore
never ending weaving
time and motion

roar of waves
singing, dancing in
unbroken rhythm

seashells on grey sands
swept by morning rush
waits for turning tide

green algae float
salty brine flowing
streams into streams

swirling, crushed corals
clinging to soles of feet
dusting footprints in sand

a pebble flies into air

Author's Note:   I don’t know where it will land.  Some changes in my work life are coming.   More demanding and technical job in another city further away from home.

I will know by next week.

Leaves

brown, red, yellow leaves
slowly spinning to the ground
fall's welcome carpet

curled leaves on grass
raking them neatly in piles
takes all my patience

Maple tree

Japanese maple
tree of autumn's splendour
casting colourful spell

Umbrella of fire
blooming amidst cool season
belle of the fall

russet autumn leaves
flooding the city's landscape
nature's wallpaper

the world turned blue
when pining words in letter
returned:   unknown address

full blue moon rising
over colored freckled clouds
portent of magic

Rain

soft patter of rain
falling on green leafy shrubs
hardened by the sun

peering under leaf
waiting for the rain to stop
to leap out of sight

Sky

I cannot touch you
but you make me dream of you
gazing pink hued sky

~0~0~

Unadorned, I gaze
your beauty flourishing each day
magnificent
