a cup of tea
simmers with aroma
you sip its warmth
as blues shuffles the air
evoking happy times-
you write your verses
imagining time is splatter of color
you draw on sands
vermillion sky-
mumuration of starlings-
you, being carried away
on clouds

I love that wonderful ending, even though it sounds like there is a lot of loss where only imagination can provide solace.

"as blues shuffles the air" sets the atmosphere perfectly, Grace, as our thoughts shuffle after yours, in tune, "being carried away on clouds." 🩵
ReplyDelete"you, being carried away on clouds" ... can be read so many ways. I love the mystery and imagery. "You" could be me, carried away after this stressful corporate America day, needing that cup of tea evoking happy times. I love poetry that provides what the reader needs, giving us a palate but letting us read into it what we will.
ReplyDeleteOh clouds do seed the imagination!
ReplyDeleteExcellent words
ReplyDeleteI was really there, you took me there, evocative.
