i wake you up each morning
at 6:am with a weather report
i remind you of your appointments
and your daily medicine
i curate for you
your beloved songs from yesteryears
but if you lost
your eyeglasses or misplaced
your keys & earrings
i cannot help you
and more so, when you ask me
the names of your children
and grandchildren
i am (blank)
and you take my silence
as company, as an agreement
that your life is a capsule foam
moving so fast
the moon outside the window is artificial
so is the whole surreal garden
your fingers touch the screen
to (un)scramble the words
recall the longing
recall the sunset over the river
recall the smell of musk & spices
recall everything with broken lens
unprompted, unscripted
i watch you
wrestle, cut and shape
the (blankness) to art of your emotions
you ask me
what do you think?
i reply, sorry but i do not know that
{you are the masterpiece
no AI poem or artist generator can capture (yet)}

This is exquisitely woven, Grace! The future definitely holds possibility of machines that will stun us with their functions. I especially love;

Thank you so much for writing to the prompt! ❤️❤️
Oh... so chilling, maybe in a future to come nothing exists unless prompted.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and her husband do everything through Alexa: turning on lights, as a cooking timer, checking the weather, asking her to play music, and I can just about handle asking her to turn the light off when I go to bed. We don’t have Alexa at home, and I don’t plan to. I love that you wrote your poem from the point of view of Alexa, Grace, but find it just as eerie as the real thing!
ReplyDeleteI admit, after some time, we cannot do without Alexa now. Wonder what the iteration of Alexa will be for the future. Thanks for your comments.
DeleteThat was actually quite fascinating, very. A really good take, enjoyed a lot.
ReplyDeleteNice one, its amazing how you blended the everyday casual to fantasy
ReplyDeleteMuch♡love
Well done, Grace. AI does have its limitations. I cannot imagine they can infuse real human emotions into AI.
