Note:  The old tradition of Philippine courtship is called harana.  It involves singing to woo the woman at night, and if she likes you, she opens her window and invites you inside her home.

Shared with Flash Fiction Friday:   for the G-man.   We finally have snow.   It came after Christmas day.   Thankfully it is light and erratic but still the ice must be scraped from the car before the drive.   Thanks for the visit.

Buried

buried under snow
dusty road looks pale and lost
trees shake in the cold

white falling snowflakes
veils the mud prints of journey
tomorrow, we walk

under covert sky,
we embrace winter's passing
sleeping in her arms

Passage

steady rushing sound
water twirls, marches to beat
gateway to new lands

eagle wings soaring
ragged mountains in slumber
gentle solitude

ashes in the urn
scattered in river he loves
spirit soaring sky
