summer's end

from seed, you grew tall

orange cupcake flower

i wanted you to bloom forever

but summer's end is here

[pause]

spin me out of summer blues

as flowers turn deep sun-blood

slow decay by wind chill-

dying/dyeing

ink, garden these verses

[within me]

summer of calendula

i count more than 12 petals

sun-radiant, golden lemon bright,

red specks in the center

we are bee-struck over your

healing prowess

though your size is my palm

your willowy sway

in the breeze, safron scent of mint

and thyme

brings a joyful morning

Flower

Stones
at our feet

Time is the black milk
we drink
morning
noon
& night

Our skin hammers
hard walls
seeking water &
adding petals

Sun flares
bloody red, hot oilseeds
on ground

One blindman's word above leaded sky:

flower

Queen of the night

Epiphyllum oxypetalum
Queen of the Night

in darkest of nights
my hands open to receive you-
burst forth as lightning
unfolding every jagged line bold-
you are beautifully made

when the sky is dry
her hands are water
when night is cold,
her hands are catching fire opals-
mother, thread my hands with yours

Secrets by flowers

you rise
lavender lace,
laden of butterfly breath
i drink you
               like rain
                           drops

~0~0~

your petals
fold secrets:  oil scents, lush seeds
i inhale you
                  tea-stirred
                                   morning

~0~0~

your thorns prick
spears of red in my secret places,
i succumb
                 to the dying
                                   sun

A flower is up to you

a flower is sinless
a flower is a blossom that contains brilliant
a flower is easy to make into a cartoon

a flower is chosen
a flower is given its scent by nature
a flower is born

a flower is an evocation to silence through the mask of language
a flower is the story of a disturbed little girl who sacrifices everything

to preserve the only life she's ever  known
a flower is a lonesome thing

~Posted for D'verse Poets Pub - Googlism - Selected from this word list ~

a flower is a thing of loveliness
the illumination of all the life that has preceded it

hold up a mirror to your soul to see your life more clearly; for in its shape-
a flower

is not just a flower
it's healing, also formed in garlic & chicken soup-

a beautiful thing:
a flower blooming

Shadorma poems

                                                                "Bougainvillean Dreams"

you hold me
pale as crushed petals
paper dry
fading, but
on pink bed of your soft hands,
my dreams bloom, bold red

~0~0~0~

                                                                              "Growth"

tiny leaf
awakens, pulsing,
growing faith
uplifting
face to the sun, shoulders straight,
  an oak tree rises

~0~0~0~

"Bee in a Bottlebrush"

Drink from me
deep to my marrow
where the seeds
flaming red
scatter the fragrance and tears
of a wounded heart

Full of sunshine

I was expecting a lot of sun and warm weather lately as it is summer.  But on some nights, it is still cold, along with the rain and dark clouds.

I guess that's the way life is...  you expect certain events and situations to happen, and sometimes it doesn't turn out to be like that.       This is applicable  to my life right now as I didn't get the job post I was applying for last week.  I was disappointed but I think I made the right decision to stretch myself to see what is out there.  I am thankful I do have a stable job and love the people I work with right now.   As to my recent exam results, I will know in about 2 weeks. Hopefully I pass, and I can move on to another challenge.

All in all, the past few days wasn't too bad.   I was expecting sunshine all the way through, but the rain has been good for Mother Earth.   I see the trees in their full splendour and the garden blooming with flowers (specially my red roses). Yes, life can be full of sunshine.

So, how was your week?   Hope you all have a good weekend ~

In your hands

You can choose to be happy and excited about today and the future.
You can choose to be sad and depressed thinking about it.
It is in your hands.

In sight

Amidst all the distractions and challenges,
don’t lose sight of
your dreams.

At their best

Try to
catch people
doing and giving their best.
There are enough fault finders and cynics in this world.
