Inside his damaged heart

lies a ticking clock
winding so slow, dawn slumbers
above water's stillness

From my sister's album
Vietnam's national flower, lotus

You sit still, silent as lotus
Listening as frantic heart beats
Wash over you, fold & repeat
Nights are the worse, without notice

Pain strikes from your scarred heart, so blue
It etches your voice so faint, frail
I hold phone close, deeply inhale
As you thank me for calling you

Wishing you Happy Father's Day !!!

The father's eyes

i'm shy
as a turtle
under this shell, i'll  hide
from everyone, yet you always

see me

I don't want to come out to play. Photo by Jenn Jilks

you held
me in your hand,
there's a twinkle in your
eyes:   pride, joy, a tinge of sadness -

i'm awed

The tree

                                                                              Puddle, 1952, M. C. Escher

There is a silent forest beneath
my road, soft with water, hard with oil

Peering to see the full moon
shining at the edge, halfway across the sea

You waited for me to cross the sky,
with your lantern eyes and wrinkled hands

Glancing back, your words carried me
when my legs were puddle frail in the storm

your gnarled limbs and deep roots reach
for me, and lifts me high from brown soil

You are the tree that carries me, still
in my journey of many roads, many seasons

now as your leaves fall slowly like gentle rain,
i carry the seeds of your forest in my hands

                                                                          always

Happy Father's Day !!!

Happy Father's Day

I am free to be who I am, and be the person I want to be.

A special person who is part of who I am today is my Dad.

Happy special day to all the fathers including my hubby!

Have a good weekend everyone!
