Doubts

doubts are like blue dust
covering your skin and face,
dead gold fish on bowl

~0~0

dust off the doubts in
your mind, your words will sparkle,
even at the dark

~0~0

seeds of doubt
wrapping  fingers, hands,
blank pages

Harbor

still waters, silence
glimmers over the harbor,
drawn by hopeful eyes

~0~0

journey begins when
we leave harbor of childhood,
sailing unknown land

inspired thoughts,
harbored reflections,
verses fly

Deserted

emptiness stretched far
shorelines deserted of birds,
bread crumbs turned to dust

~0~0

palm trees drooping low,
listening to footsteps, but
nothing whispered back

To the sea

take me to the sea,
lay me down the sands

warmed by salt marsh snails and mottled weeds,
hollowed by the restless crabs and lonely footprints

bring me far where the white gulls fly,
bonded to craggy rocks and cliff edge

then

wash me in plumage grey,
wash me in sun webbed rays,

my wingtips quiver for the sky

Everything from this place has a pact
            with birds.
Here if the horizon reddens a little,
the beetles think it’s a fire.
Where the river starts a fish,
                        river me a thing
River me a frog
River me a tree.

Endurance

eyes behind thick lens,
he practiced long measured steps,
enduring silence

~0~0

running briskly to
yellow line, endurance pounds
one second harder

~0~0

there are no white flags
nor finish lines,  beginnings
draw out endurance

Monday morning

ticking of wall clock wakes me,
its rhythmic sound a reminder that
every second, every minute is gliding by.

alarm rings once, twice, (and thrice even)
admonishing me to follow my morning routine.
i prepare breakfast of cold milk and wheat cereals,
topped with blueberries and sometimes, sliced bananas.

house is quiet, this moment of peace is mine.
though the morning light is still very faint,
i read poems and allow the words to inspire my thoughts,
and take me into new journeys.   connected with myself,

at 7:15 am, i grab my car keys, lunch bag and coat,
ready for my city drive

another ordinary day,
same road, same driving lane,
same scenery, same office destination.

feel very blessed this monday morning.

Blue rush

waves curl in blue rush
rhythm of sea, crushed cubes in
raspberry cocktail

~0~0

blue is the morning
sky above coconut trees,
seaweeds tangling shoe

~0~0

white hat for St. Patrick's dance,
winter blues fading
