cherita

snow

covers the dead maple leaves

& city roads 

all white

soft as river sands

filling in all the emptiness-

darkness steeps

hours with greys & bloodless sky

where are the birdsongs & bees?

my pen hears them, scratching  

away the icy blues of the long night- 

winter's breath is tangerine

slow dance

frayed daffodil leaves
thirsting under summer sun-
orange cardinals hop

among the brambles,
cones & wilting rose bushes-
wild bunnies stop

wary of red fox
& coyotes lurking about-
sky- dragon of clouds

i hold 
spring bulbs for fall's planting-
sunset fades- slow dance

On the road to San Diego, US @Grace

black raven swoops silently
against the canvas of dry mountain hills-
roads shimmer, simmer in red hot dust

rocky mountains
saffron-stained by blue cloudless sky-
thirst, a palpable heartbeat

i-
sculpted against fading indigo sky
you-
waiting in slippers by the doorway home
