Squiggly by fireflies
here is home- windows turning to clouds warmed by steaming chicken broth couch holding storybooks with giant hands and feet walls squiggly-marked with pink- beds giggled-soft by pillows- floors hiding burpy belly laughter and ceiling lights- fireflies bright as wiggling-balloons going up & away Posted for D'verse Poets Pub - Quadrille - 44 word post with the word GIGGLE. Come and join us when the pub doors open at 3pm EST. Hosted by De Jackson.
Just lovely, sweet & poetic--love the line /beds giggled soft by pillows/. The right amount of whimsey, with a message as soft as a grandchild's lips; with slobber & giggle included.
This is lovely, Grace, radiating warmth and comfort from the 'steaming chicken broth', the giant hands of the couch and the 'beds giggled-soft by pillows'. The firefly balloons give the ending such a lift - I'm so glad it ends on a beautiful light note.
DoWn in these pARts girl giggles are a thing of the past and present allowed in school and on the playground too.. Thanks God Boys can actually Giggle now too.. as who the F can take reaLiTy seriouSlY now.. Trump it with a Giggle is all tHeRe is left to do..;)
LOVE this description of a snuggly, comfortable, nurturing home! :) sigh... would that this kind of home could be had by everyone! Leaving to return to Boston this afternoon....so just reading a few giggles before sitting on our deck overlooking the harbor one last morn. Shall finish today's reading from yesterday and today (giggles and mementos) in my comfy Boston den....missing these aquamarine waters till next year. Your poem makes our leaving easier....as my den, our home, has this comfy feel! :)
I love what you see in a home... there are so many possibilities to giggle and laugh... we need that.
