seeds for a successful harvest

 imagine:

a fruit from seed
sun-warm & greening from fresh rain

you nurture it everyday
with fervor of busy bees
each nod & nudge
celebration of small steps -

one small leaf
one flower blossoming
each tendril binding
to core of it all:

mother earth

Growing cucumber, herbs & other vegetables on my balcony

Posted for dVerse Poets Pub - Quadrille, Let's Celebrate, hosted by Merril D. Smith.  This is a 44 word post with the chosen word, Celebrate.   Happy 11th anniversary dVerse!!!!!  On a personal note, my attitude towards celebration is the same with gardening - small steps towards a goal is worthy of a celebration.

Thank you for the support, visits and comments.

  9. I like how you dissect the art of cultivation and how this can be taken literally or as a metaphor. Love the picture of your lovely growing things, Grace.

  13. Hi Grace -- You have my attention right away with the balcony! They make your outside so much larger. And growing the plant there!! Yes, blooms are blessings for our growing to help keep us green. Here on the ground we have to keep them safe from rabbits. They are blessings too, cotton tailed little like toys.

  17. I love the layered meaning of this, at least that's what I take, especially the line about nurturing, something about how we thrive in nurture, a hopeful poem.
