Midnight sky

love, come

midnight sky is moon-dewed

       under a colony of stars

darkness fades

as you trace fragrant words

       upon my skin

your kiss is blade of cognac

pulsing beneath my chest

      slurping, feasting, beguiling

burn the night

ocean-silk between my thighs

      staking my every sigh

cloving my every word

     with wild murmurings of wind

And I will blaze

open, a pink-cherry blooming

     with all fire in me

  1. I truly love the ending here... you truly know how to write in this genre.. I think we both used the blooming metaphor.

  2. This piece has so much fervor and passion. It's a beautiful take on the prompt that encompasses the different aspects of what makes erotic poetry, well, erotic. Very beautifully written and mystical. I am stunned, once more, at the profundity of your words.

  5. Grace, this is a stunning piece. There is so much to like about this. What really got me is "burn the night

    ocean-silk between my thighs

    staking my every sigh..."

    Beautifully crafted. Oh, and the ending! Perfection.

    ‘…you trace fragrant words
    upon my skin’;
    ‘your kiss is blade of cognac’;
    and
    ‘ocean-silk between my thighs
    staking my every sigh’.
