Late January spell

Half moon, cradle of shadows and light
Needle our eyes to star-burst night
Thump our chests, mired in hemlock & brine
Half moon, cradle of shadows and light
Draw amber and seeds on our palms
We long for sunshine and rain clouds

  3. I like the description of longing for warmer weather and the sound that "palms" and "long" make in the last two lines.

  6. Oh I love this... the inclusion of hemlock make it into a potion... the repetition of the lines is very effective for a spell.

  15. Winter and its moons seem more “witch-ly” than summer ones, don’t they. I love the spell you wove, Grace.

  17. That sounded just like a spell! I felt that! Sunshine and rain clouds bring rainbows here in CA in late January.
