A flower is up to you

a flower is sinless
a flower is a blossom that contains brilliant
a flower is easy to make into a cartoon

a flower is chosen
a flower is given its scent by nature
a flower is born

a flower is an evocation to silence through the mask of language
a flower is the story of a disturbed little girl who sacrifices everything

to preserve the only life she's ever  known
a flower is a lonesome thing

~Posted for D'verse Poets Pub - Googlism - Selected from this word list ~

a flower is a thing of loveliness
the illumination of all the life that has preceded it

hold up a mirror to your soul to see your life more clearly; for in its shape-
a flower

is not just a flower
it's healing, also formed in garlic & chicken soup-

a beautiful thing:
a flower blooming

  7. I got lazy, Grace; just googled myself, and flew off in 30 directions; really liked what you did with this prompt; really rocked it, lady. Makes me want to pick another "subject" and google up another verse; smiles.

  11. Fascinating. Makes me want to run back over and start entering nouns. The contrast of the two poems [mirroring?] is a bonus for us. Thank goodness for G-Man.

  16. I like the "seed word" idea that everything else balloons out of, each a tiny parachute of its own. In the first I was surprised to end with loneliness, a little girl, but I liked it very much as a flower bridges some lonelinesses.

  27. If the world was flower-less, I'd be so sad. I loved this. Interesting stuff shows up on these random google searches, but it takes a poet to craft something special out of it. :)

  32. A beautiful list, and a beautiful way to define something that could have been saccharine and cliched.I like the idea of a flower being sinless, too.

  33. And there is no flower lovelier than a rose. I like the surprising reference to garlic and chicken soup. I picked a bouquet for my mother yesterday from the mums by her door and the lavender by the house, protected from the weather and the yarrow still in bloom under a bed of fallen leaves. It was the best thing I could do for her. Your poem made me think of that. Thanks.
