language of flowers

Grace @ Everyday Amazing

a seed grows in my mind
     unlike anything i have seen
          mysterious unfolding, a gem-
i take the slender brush,

        paint
the blooms and leaves -
            speak
        the language of flowers -

petals rise, one by one, army
      of pastels & verses -
            rooting, overflowing canvas,
across barren garden

  6. You can sure speak to flowers, do they talk back though? Maybe they are mad at the cat for snacking on them haha

  10. Love the idea of "the language of flowers", and then the blooms overflowing the painting, spreading across the garden. Lovely.

  11. The use and mixing of art and nature is lovely. I immediately thought this should be called "Mixed Media"--all painted with words.

  16. I loved the final verse. Including the word "army" was unexpected but paid off excellently.

  19. Grace, I love how this poem bloomed! That beginning stanza pulled me right in and you set the tone with the slender brush, for some reason that made everything afterwards seem so elegant--a beautiful poem :-)
