Poetry for the Firefly Jar

Gull Lake@Everyday Amazing

to grow steadily:
deep roots, upturned face, open hands,
amidst stones:  grass

to brim cup:
bright words, green colors, music,
amidst desert:  water

to yield gently:
storms, skyfall and changing roads,
a strong oak

  5. Indeed, these would go in my jar! To be open as the grass, to be refreshed, to grow strong, are all valuable to me. Sometimes I think of Haiku as beads, and strung together these are beautiful.

  12. Like thes a lot, Grace. There is such strength and perseverance in them. The first makes me think of those blades of grass that manage to find the sun and grow from the cracks in the walkway.

  27. Grace, my favorite was the Grass haiku. I've always loved the tenacity of grass to have its way no matter what! Found you at Scribs, and so glad I did. This is really good writing. Peace, Amy Barlow Liberatore
