Life

                                                                                      © Daryl Edelstein

i wanted to write about
broken nose, splintered red cheeks,
rough rat's hair and pebbled forehead
and how tough as a glass I am

but ever since I met you,
all I wanted to write about are fushcia and violet blooms in garden,
and how soft the sands are in my hands,
I became whole again,

In love with life

  1. smiles...pretty amazing how life can turn like that and make our thoughts only of the beauty of things...

  5. Yeah great how life can turn on a dime in a new direction, all the better when you don't see it coming too.

  6. I really like these lines:
"rough rat's hair and pebbled forehead
and how tough as a glass I am"

(You have a couple of typos:
"every since" should be "ever since"
    "fushia" should be "fuchsia")

  21. I like how the poem starts off with negative feelings, but when you get to the second stanza, all of that is changed because of the feelings of love. Cleverly composed as well as beautiful. :)
