Being alive

our eyes
seek a piece of sun,
open panes

~0~0

our ears,
thrill to stormy winds,
open arms

~0~0

our lips
hunger for sea salt,
 open sky

  5. Really nice job connecting the haiku here. Love the way they work alone yet really come alive together. The senses stand out to me, first the sight, then the sound and then a combination of touch and taste, and the idea of openness shines here. Thanks

  18. This is a beautiful capture of the spirit of the picture. Once I had read it through, I reread all the line ones, then twos, then threes - it's like another poem within a poem.

  23. You just took me on a vacation in Mexico with those three amazing verses. Wow...I read them through three times and was utterly relaxed when I finished. Excuse me while I head to the palapa bar for a shot of Tequila and a Negra Modelo.
