Nightime



the quarter moon sighed softly,
watching children sleep deeply.
will he ever get to play
hide and seek with them all day ?

the sun yawned, ready to fall      
after watching concert hall  
she didn't want to wake up late,
putting all in grumpy state !

the stars are quiet tonight 
listening to sounds, so light
a wish, prayer, poet's words,
to sparkle long dreary roads !

A tanaga is a short poem of four lines, each line seven syllables with a single rhyme. Today, other rhyme schemes are used, including freestyle rhyme, but for the purpose of this exercise, let's try to stick with couplets.
